Just a note for completeness: Multitouch gadgets have been around for quite some time now. The JazzMutant Lemur has been available (buyable) one year before Jeffs presentation at TED. IIRC the first version was announced in fall 04.

www.jazzmutant.com/lemur_overview.php [jazzmutant.com] Does anyone know of other multitouch devices that were on the market before?

just for completeness: here's another video from January http://youtube.com/watch?v=ysEVYwa-vHM [youtube.com] I'm especially happy to see, that he uses magic lenses for his demo.

And for your watchlist: Perceptive Pixel [perceptivepixel.com] is the NYU spinoff founded by Han around his multitouch research.
