This article appeared a few months ago in the now-defunct FEED, profiling Andy O’Meara, who developed the G-Force and WhiteCap music visualization plug-ins for the WinAmp and iTunes MP3 players. For those who haven’t seen G-Force and WhiteCap at work, they automatically generate hallucinogenic patterns that are eerily synchronized with the music being played. The interesting thing about Andy himself is that he is currently qualifying as a submarine officer aboard a US Navy attack sub, and spends weeks at sea between coding. He is also a devout Christian, and talks openly about the religious inspiration behind his programs (it turns out that G-Force stands for "Godforce.")
