Does Steve Jobs See Flash as Obstacle in Apple's Frantic Dash to the Cloud?
posted by Editor on Friday April 30, @05:12PM
Grid Computing

This editorial by Charlie Stross provides some context for Steve Jobs' open letter against Flash, HP's acquisition of Palm, and Apple's obsession with secrecy. All of these developments are indicators for the next era of computing, in which there will be enough network bandwidth that users will finally move their data from PCs into the cloud, in which Apple hopes to establish a major presence within five years, possibly based on future versions of iTunes.

Also, Wikipedia has a nice list of mind mapping software, which can be used to visualize relationships between ideas or other pieces of information. IBM's Bob Sutor asks what Math software interfaces should look like on iPad. Tabbles is a relational file manager, helping users categorize and find files in a new way (a bit like Microsoft's WinFS was supposed to), and Skinput turns your body into a keyboard.
