Clara 3D Web Browser
posted by Editor on Monday April 03, @05:32PM
3D User Interfaces Clara is a 3D web browser that lets you walk, fly, or jump through a virtual world where all the objects are usable, interactive web-pages. You can read the pages just as you would in 2D, i.e. scroll them, click them, or hear them. You can open multiple pages at once by drawing a rectangle around the links of interest, and a "guided tour" shows which path you've taken through the web. Here are some screenshots and video demos. Clara is implemented as a Windows program that can be downloaded for free (there are separate versions for 3D boards running OpenGL or DirectX).

I saw this project a while back and I thought they had a good start and I liked the effects. My understanding it was two German guys that did the work, but it has since been abandoned?
