ActiveWords is an interface mechanism that allows users to directly connect words on the screen with actions related to the meaning of the words. While traditional GUIs require you to dig through nested folders and hierarchical menus to get what you already know you want, ActiveWords makes interaction more efficient by allowing you to apply your own language to the things you do with a computer. Like an "auto-correct on steroids", ActiveWords allows you to simply select or type the words related to what you want, and press a single key to initiate the action. For example, to find out the weather, you would simply type "weather" and press the ActiveWords Key to get the weather information. Here is more information about how ActiveWords works, an online demo (it is currently implemented as a Windows extension), and a vision of how it could evolve in the future.
